  • For heavy, fragile, or irregular items (auto parts, machinery, glassware): This is where you need heavy-duty bubble wrap with large bubbles (1/2”+) and thick film. Don’t skimp here. The cost of one damaged shipment will wipe out the savings from a cheaper roll.

The decision isn’t about being cheap or expensive — it’s about matching the material to the risk. For our transmission assemblies, the heavy-duty wrap is non-negotiable. For the office supplies we ship occasionally? Standard is fine.

That $80 mistake taught me that the cheapest option isn’t always the most cost-effective. And honestly? The headache of dealing with a damaged shipment, the paperwork, the customer’s frustration — that’s harder to measure than dollars, but it’s real.
